Bedding Fleece question, bathmat?

I recently sewed together a five layer fleece, towel, waterproof liner, fleece, waterproof liner mat for the cage. I wanted something a little cheaper I could throw in their cage just while I was washing it for an hour. Would the chenille bathmats work?

I'm still new to this, but I hate the paper bedding. I spot clean their cage about 3 to 4 times a day and find fleece so much easier. But wanted a cheap and easy option for those moments I'm washing the fleece until I get some time to sew up some more liners.

Chenille bathmats soak up the water, and will not keep the pigs' feet dry. You could throw fleece over it and that should work.

But why are you putting two water proof layers in your liner mat? You only need one -- to keep the urine from going all the way through. And if you have a waterproof bottom to your cage, like coroplast or a shower curtain, you don't need any at all in the liner.
