Advice needed!!! I have two guinea pigs (Pig and Janice) on fleece. When I change their bedding I always shake it out really well to remove as much hay and hair before I wash it. I always hang it to dry and I?m noticing that there seems to be tiny pieces of hay that seems to be stuck in the fleece and are prickly when I put the ?clean? fleece in their cage. I?m sure it is probably pricking their feet. Any advice on what to do to prevent this? Thank u.

I have a little hand-held broom and dustpan, and I use the broom to brush as much of the hay off as I can before I chuck it in the washer. It's super easy for me because I have homemade fleece flippers, so the coroplast panels hold the fleece taut while I brush them. If you're using a fleece liner, I would suggest trying to hang it against something sturdy like a wall or over a fence to give you something to brush against.
