General Litter Training and Water bottles

I have seen videos and heard of people litter training guinea pigs but I always see poop outside of the litter pan. Is it really beneficial to litter train guinea pigs if they will only sometimes use it? Also, how many water bottles should I get if I am getting 2 guinea pigs?

You can't litter train them.

If you're lucky, your pigs will pick a place where they do most of their business, usually where they eat and sleep. You can put something there to catch most of the output. But you can't train them to go somewhere they don't want to go.

If you're not lucky, they'll poop and pee all over the place.

Two water bottles for two guinea pigs, just in case one of them stops working and you don't notice.
