Sorry, posting this again since I do not see it as a new post, Please respond. Ginger is 5 years old, found hunched in cage, does not want to eat, very lethargic, seems to have rapid heartbeat, no respitory infection, wants to stay on one place. Is she sick or heading to the Rainbow Bridge? Any thoughts?

Your first post about it apparently didn't come through.

She's obviously sick, but not obviously dying. Guinea pigs routinely live to seven or eight. She needs to see an exotic vet ASAP.

Thank you BPatters, there are no emergency vets in my area so I am trying a little bit of Critical Care and keeping an eye on her. Will get to a vet asap in the AM. I will send an update.

Thank you for asking. I guess it was her turn to leave, she went peacefully at about 3:30M Monday. I think she was 5 so that seems early to me. Now her cagemate Pumpkin is left, who is not depressed at all. I adopted them at 1yr old from a rescue so I am going to wait until after Pumpkin goes and wait a while longer before considering getting 2 more. I know I need furbabies in my life.

I am so sorry for your loss.

Rest in peace, Ginger. You will be greatly missed.

Thank you for your kind thoughts.

I'm so sorry you lost her.

I'm very sorry to read about Ginger's passing. Logged on hoping to read a positive update but as you wrote, it apparently was Ginger's time to go.
