What toys do your guineas like to play with the most? My girls don't have much in the way of toys (their igloos and a few ping pong balls). I want to get them more when I can and would love to hear what is "guinea tested, piggy approved" lol.

That would have been my answer as well! I guess small furries just really love them. 2nd to that, newspaper twisted up and tied in a knot, cardboard boxes (Sophie uses them as her "forts") and also anything that has a bell in, like a bird toy!

I buy tissue paper from the dollar store and throw it in their cage...or I'll shove some of the tissue paper in a brown paper bag. They love it!

I saw a picture where there were these guinea pigs running through a slinky. They looked like they were having the time of their lives! (It was plastic btw)

I have found some fun homemade toy videos on YouTube. Peaches love to be challenged to get her hay.

Make a hammock. My guinea pigs love them.

What You Need:

Get a large sock
Scissors
4 small pieces of string

Guinea Pig Hammock Instructions

Cut your sock from the opening straight down to the toe.
It will now be the shape of a square
Cute small holes in every corner
Put the strings through the holes
Tie to the cage wires.
AND WALA.
A hammock

My avatar is my female in hers.

It's weird but my girl never looked at the toilet paper stuffed hay tube. The only think she will touch is a small twig ball and rolling wood toy that can be easily chewed that has a small wood ball in it for noise. She hates bell type noises.

My girls LOVED having hay stuffed in a toilet roll. So much so that my greediest girl managed to get the toilet roll stuck on her head, not once, but TWICE!
The second time was horrible, I was trying to free her and she ended up falling out her cage. Luckily she was fine but I was shaking for hours after!
Needless to say I haven't given them any since!

My spazzy pig actually managed to get stuck in hers. My other piggie is too lazy to care. Or she was laughing at the stuck piggie.. Im not sure. :) PS she wasnt stuck for long or harmed in any way. I was right there to get her unstuck.

All I kept thinking after mine got stuck was that it was lucky I was there, I dread to think what could have happened otherwise. She was so stressed even when she was only stuck for about 10 seconds!

I cut tubes from both ends almost all the way through so they can't get stuck.

I do toilet paper tubes also, except I prefer to use the cardboard tube from gift wrapping paper- it doesn't have any glue or excess toilet paper on it. For my pigs, I run a string through the tube and tie it, and then tie the other end of the string onto one of the grids on top (I have a covered cage, but it would probably work on a side grid too) They love the challenge of pulling the hay out of the tube, it swings and spins to keep them interested, and you don't have to cut the tube at all because it is hanging up and they can't get any kind of grip or leverage to get their head stuck.
