It just came out of nowhere, and I dont know what happened.
I am very worried.
Any idea what it is, and if I should go to the vet?

Sure looks like a hay poke to me. Yes, you should see an exotics vet ASAP. Eye injuries are very painful, and if left untreated he can lose the eye.
