Also, can I assume this red is from the candy cane chew toy they were playing with nearby if I saw pink near the chew toy? (I took it away)

All guinea pigs have somewhat milky urine. You get concerned when the dried white spots they leave are large or gritty, and when the pig is over six months old.

What is the red stringy stuff made of? Did they eat the string?

The red string part was the same wood the rest of it was... It was just dyed.

It's possible the red dye in the twine is what caused the pink urine stains. I'd monitor to see if the pink urine returns.
