Can they get Sick?

I am looking into getting a mouse which will be housed in my room, where my two guinea pigs' cage is. I was wondering, if I get my mouse and he happens to be sick, is it possible for my guinea pigs to get sick? Are infections and virus's animal specific?

I'm not sure but I used to have a hamster when one was sick my other wasn't. But I'm still not sure.

Some things such as lice and mites can be passed interspecias some things cannot, it all depends on the illness.

Yes the mouse can carry illnesses that make the pigs sick. It would be best to quarantine any new animals but especially rodents in a seperate room from your current animals. While they are less likely to get sick from a different species there are some illnesses that any species can carry.
