    Weight Help with scale?

First two photos are of Bellatrix. I tried my best to take all photos clear but it was a challenge. How much do my piggies weigh? Next: This is Ellerby. Both these girls are still growing, they are still quite young. More photos....

Weight Idiot needs help with Scale.

I bought a really cheap scale online on Ebay but I don't know how to to read it. Can anyone explain what each line means? What are the inside numbers? And the outside numbers... which I'm guessing are the pounds. Wow.. can't believe I don't understand the scale.

    Getting Upset

Not sure if this was the right place to write this but I was just wondering if anyone get's upset over some things people say here? I get really emotional when I read people coming on this forum and saying they love breeding, or their guinea pigs live outside, walk them on a leash... list goes...

C&C Alternatives Upgraded my guinea pig room!

I re-introduced Popper back into the herd and it went well.. so far. So I decided to open the lower cage up minus the bully male, Gibbons who's still in his own cage. Here's the outcome: This is the right side of the cage: This is the 8 1/2 long part of the cage that's under the girls cage...

    Video of the babies

Popcorning Baby Guinea Pigs - YouTube Slightly older video. This was the babies and mom's first day home with me. They are now in a 2x5 but even with this smaller cage, they were so excited. They were formally kept in a 1x1 cage.. the moma and three babies. Please excuse my youtube name. I...

    Hay Would this be okay?

I've been looking for local grown hay and I saw this ad. I was wondering if the guineas could eat this as a treat? I know it's not timothy hay and I'd never stop giving it to my guinea's... but would this be okay as something else to try with them? It's a great price and only 20 minutes away...

    C&C Alternatives Any critics?

So, this is my Cavy Room. 10 guinea pigs. 7 males and three females. The females are on the table. It's a 2x5 grid. Holds momma Calidora and two of her babies Bellatrix and Ellerby. Her male is with Hedwig underneath her. I know my grids are the larger ones but the only grids I found at...

    Diet Pumpkin

I understand that Guinea Pigs can eat pumpkin 1-2 times a week. My guineas never had it before but since we are carving our pumpkins (at the last minute) I was wondering what part of the pumpkin can they eat? I know they can't eat the seeds but is it the inside gooey stuff? Or the outer orange...

    Fleece Polyester Loft rolls?

I made an ad on Craigslist under the "Wanted" spot for some fleece and someone messaged me with this: "Hi, I have some polyester loft rolls that are bagged (the type that you purchase where there is enough in a package for a quilt.) I think there are two in my sewing closet for a size queen...

    General Nursing babies

I unexpectedly adopted a mother and her three babies (Story in another thread) and today they are 25 days old. I have separated the only male which leaves two female babies with the moma. They are still constantly nursing. I've read 21 days was when they should be weaned which is why I separated...

Adopting 10 guinea pigs. My husband wants to kill me.

So I'll try to make the story short as possible. You see, I'm from California. My husband and I moved to Tennessee only 3 months ago and before we moved, my 8 year old guinea pig Oko passed away (His mate passed away 6 months before). I was heartbroken. But my husband told me once we settled in...

    Injury Little fight.

    Fur What breed? Pigtures!

Hedwig!!! He was one of my adoptees from a local shelter. I'd like the piggie experts to explain the difference of a Himalayan and a PEW. Because I thought only the PEW had the red eyes. But he has brown ears and a slight brown fade on the nose like a Himi or do Himi's have red eyes as well...

Flags Boars like to be alone!

(broken link removed) Really? I've only had boars and they LOVE other males. I've had board the passed 10 years and all have been with cage mates. I've never seen a rescue that promotes single males. They are herd animals. Or maybe I'm missig something?

Diet few questions on different food

I have a few questions regarding food. Now for peas, is it the actual pea or is it the pea pod? Same with green beans? And I read it somewhere on this forum that they can have corn on the cob is this true? And how much? I was also wondering if any of you plant your own herbs or vegetables? If...
