Hay What cut Timothy hay?

It's time to reorder hay and I'm wondering if I should try something different. I always get 2nd cut Timothy from SmallPetSelect.com. I kind of understand the difference in the cuts (I think), but have never tried anything else. I know that Brownie loves the heads of the hay. I guess that's what it is (the tip with seeds). But he doesn't like the tougher pieces as much. I understand 3rd cut is softer and considered better quality, but wouldn't there be fewer heads? I want to get my boys the best and would love to try the 3rd cut but what if they don't like it because they want those heads?

Third cut definitely has fewer seed heads than second, and a lot fewer than first.
