Fur shedding for winter coat?

Good afternoon! Charlie seems to be shedding a lot, since i've only had him since May I don't know a lot about their coats. Is he just shedding for his winter coat?

They don't put on winter coats. But guinea pigs do shed a lot. Daily brushing will help.
