There is a possibility that guinea pig has eaten rubber band (thin, about half inch in diameter). Is there a way to find if GP really has eaten it ? How bad it could be ? Should we bring it to vet, even if we aren't sure that it happened ?

No, no way to find it. I'd just watch very carefully and see if it reappears at the other end, unless the pig shows some definite signs of GI upset -- no poops, diarrhea, whatever. Then you should go to the vet.
