Well, I figured it was time to introduce myself and our sweet piggies. Sorry it ended up so long. I've been lurking since August when we got our first pig, Jerry. My husband and I got him from Petsmart for our son(even though we knew we would be the ones taking care of him). We bought him on a whim(not like us at ALL) and since I am a huge researcher and refuse to own a pet I know nothing about, I found this site that night and must say I am very greatful. The worker at Petsmart literally told us everything wrong! He was eating the correct veggies and food and in a C&C with fleece within a week. A week later I found another guinea pig on Craigslist and brought that one home so he could have a friend. We did intros and everything was going great for three days. Then I noticed something was missing and our new 3wk old boy was a girl so we separate them and got Jerry neutered. That was when I did my last and only post to see if she was pregnant. She wasnt(boy were we lucky). They have been happily boyfriend and girlfriend now since October.

Just so you dont worry, my son(6yr old) does great with them. They are not in his room. He is not allowed to pick them up. He will only hold Jerry(he's calmer) but he will pet Eva. He helps with cleaning and feeding them. Basically they are ours, but it makes him feel good to think he owns them
