Hello Iam a 14 year old kid who has a Teddy Bear Guinea Pig, And I need a new cage and I was woundering if anyone could give me tips on what to buy and how to make the cage I would like my guinea pig to have 2 floors! The space for this cage is about 2x4 feet and a little bit more it would be great if you could help thanks!

So can anyone help me with my search and cage?

Hello Can you help me with the above?

No I mean lke I would like it to be like the ones in the photo gallerys

D you have a C&C cage for your guinea pig or (s)?

I should have added that you will need a box of cubes (grids) that can be purchased at many places including Target, Wal-Mart, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Linens' N Things, etc.

You will need Coroplast (corrugated plastic) for the box inside of the cubes. You can get this from a sign shop. You will also need cable ties to help secure the cage especially the 2nd floor if you are building one.

I read the site and I could really use some help in getting the supplies to make a cage like one in the photo gallery

Yes, I have 3 piggies in a 2x4 with an added 1x2 on the side and a 1x4 loft on top.

Are there any other sites that give step by steo intructions to help me out or is the cage all your idea? Do you have any pictures of your cage?

THe reason why IAm looking for a new cage is because mines is braking and I cant bare to see my guinea pig get hert I would die if mines got hurt!

This page will help you to locate places to find the stuff you need.

Just select what state you live in and it will tell you where you can get it.

I just used some of the photos in the photo gallery on this site to help me come up with ideas on how I wanted to make my cage. Thats another good place to look. The cages aren't very hard to put together. The trickiest part is making the coroplast box and you could have your mom or dad help you with it.

Are you about the same age as me?
Or I can also by the box thing made on the site right?

No, I am way older than you. I am 39.

You can buy a premade coroplast box but making one yourself will save you money.

Well got a point there

If you look at all the links I gave you and have one or both of your parents look at them with you, then you can make a C&C cage for your piggie and it won't cost a ton of money and will last for a very long time, plus your piggie will love you very much for it.

Cool my pig was soo spoiled from when I got him

Well thanks so much for the help

hey littlebear, good luck on building a cage. If you have a target or costcos near you, it would be cheaper to buy from. Target sells on box of cubes for 14.99 and its enough to build a 2x4 and a 2nd level even a 2x5 with a 2nd level. The box of cubes from target you get is 24 cubes and 23 connectors. From costcos you get a box of 30 for 18.99. It is more enough to do a 2x5 with 2nd level. You should be able to build a 3x5 with a 3x2 2nd level. also you would need atleast 2 sheets of coroplast. Kinkos caries them for 16.00 a sheet too. Good luck and hope some of this helps.

I forgot about Costco for cubes because I don't have one anywhere near me.
