My daughter (14) is a new guinea pig parent, so I've been doing lots of research and this forum has been an amazing place for information and ideas! We got our sweet Flicka at Petsmart at the beginning of August, on an impulse and not knowing what we do now about chain stores. She was sick with an URI within the week so we had to take her back for treatment and she just came back home today. My daughter and I are currently watching for adoptable piggies within easy driving distance so that she can have a cage mate.

She's solid black and really hard to take pictures of!

Very cute! Welcome to the forum. Good luck finding a cagemate. And I feel your pain about trying to photograph dark piggies, haha.

Welcome to the forum! I wish you luck in finding a cagemate, and hope for health and happiness for you and your herd.

As for pictures, I found that using a low light setting on my phone helped take much better pictures of dark piggies.

Mine is pretty solid brown, I feel ya. Good luck and you are right about this site, it's great knowledge. There are some YouTube videos as well, skinnypig1 is great! Don't fall for pet store "treats" either or vitamin c drops for water.
