I feed oxbow, as I think it's the best quality food I can buy in a store, as it is easier for me to go to the store and buy it. It is cheaper if you order online, though. Is there someone that can let you borrow a credit card and you pay them the cash? I sometimes do this with my mom if there is something I need online.

I'm also on a budget, but I think it's better to feed the best quality, then feed low quality and have it make my animals sick in the long run. Just think about it, a McDonald's cheeseburger may be cheaper than a healthy salad, but if you eat McDonald's cheeseburgers all the time, eventually you're going to have health problems.

These are just my thoughts, I hope it helps!

With KMS you can pay by check/money order or with paypal. So you do not 100% need a credit card.

This is the price of owning a pet. Pets are expensive. If you are feeding the proper amount, a 10lb bag should last a long time.

Have you considered one of those pre-paid Visa cards or something like that? You can buy one with cash at most pharmacies and general stores; it's basically a gift card that you can use anyplace that takes credit.

Purina makes a guinea pig pellet called Mazuri. It comes in a plain pellet and a pellet with seeds in it. You want the plain pellet. You can look online or get it from a feed store or anywhere Purina products are sold. A 25lb bad is 14.95 online at the Mazuri website.

I've been currently testing Little Martins Timothy Guinea Pig food. (recently added to the GL list). So far the calcium deposits have gone down. It has about the same values as oxbow. My pigs dove right into them so they like them. There is also no corn in them. Soy yes but no corn. I don't know if either of those stores have them because I do not shop in pet stores that sell pets.
