If cubes are hard to find you can use eggcrate or light diffusers....
It's the plastic grid used in fluro lighting to diffuse the light. Sometimes you see them in Sky Lights.
It's also used heaps in aquarium hobby setups. For covering tanks so fish dont jump out or section off tanks.
They come in sheets (white) and you can cut the sheets to any size. The square hole size looks about the same size as the cubes people are talking about but the plastic is thicker. You have to be careful when cutting it because it can snap in the wrong place. You can join them together with plastic bin ties and the set up would be really stable.
Any GOOD aquarium shop would know what eggcrate is but they might charge heaps for it. Lighting shops would have it and call it light diffusers.
