Earth Hour

I'm sure many of you have heard about it but for those who have not, heres a link YouTube - Earth Hour 2008

On March 29, at 8pm-9pm local time, many cities world wide are taking part in Earth hour and everyone in that city will turn off their lights for one hour. Our family is joining in!

Earth hour is happening in all of Australia as well. People are encouraged to turn off their lights for 1 hour, giving back a hour to the earth. It isnt that hard to do and a fantastic idea. It is advertised a great deal too (at least in Western Australia where I live). There are phamplets, posters, brochures, TV advertisments etc. On one of the morning shows this morning they show some footage of a previous Earth Hour, where all of the lights in Sydney were being turned off plunging everything into darkness. It looked pretty impressive.

I did some research and I annouced it to my whole school! So another 650 people know about it!
I told them the time, when, what to do, and what it should do.

Wow! I have never heard this before! I am definitly participating! It's as if someone hit a telephone pole and the lights go out! Just not as exciting because you can always turn them back on.

I participated!
I turned off everty light in my house and unplugged alot of them! (Things use electricity even when not being used)
My family and I ended up going to a friend's house and I had them participate as well!
