    Popcorn free, little Capy

Thank you for all the kind words. It gets better day by day. We have also found a friend for his brother Moose but it's hard not feel guilty - like we're "replacing" him. I could never replace him but I don't want his brother to be alone.

Photos Chestnut died recently, new baby pig to accompany my other pig.

Aw I'm in a similar situation, my Capy died after surgery so left me with my big ol' grumpy Moose by himself so we got him a friend. Have you put them together yet or are you introducing slowly through the bars? That's what we did and everything seemed to go well so now we have them in the same...

    Popcorn free, little Capy

I'm finding it hard to get over the loss of our guinea boar, Capy. He had gone to the vets to get his overgrown molars trimmer and had complications coming out of the anaesthetic. I think what's worse is when we called to check, they had told us we could go collect him. Unfortunately we were...

UK buying accessories and cages in UK - hard work!

I think it's the same with most other kinds of shops compared to online now. There is more choice online. I go into pet stores for basics like food and hay but for cosies, tunnels and cage liners, I can only find things online. I recently discovered https://www.candecosies.co.uk/ though and...

UK Piggie care stuffs in the uk!!

I use a hand held dustpan and brush to get the hay and poops off my cage liner - an old sock over the brush works really well. I also have a hand held Black and Decker vacuum cleaner to get anything the dustpan and brush misses. I use Fairy laundry detergent (in liquid form) for washing my cage...

UK Where did you get your correx/coroplast from?

Mine was in a rolled cylinder, maybe 30cm in diameter. It was protected on the outside by cardboard and strapping but I can see how it could get damaged if you had a rough courier. I would strongly recommend not buying correx online and trying your local sign company. A girl I work with's...

    Spider pig, spider pig

Lol I don't think I'm the best person to help. I continually change the lyrics of songs to put guinea pigs in them. Most recently it's been the theme tune to 90's cartoon "Muppet Babies". "Guinea Babies, making our dreams come true..."

    Vet Little help. >.<

Like the others, I would also recommend taking the guineas to the vet. Regardless of where it was obtained, it's a good idea to get them looked at just in case.

UK Where to buy hay in hereford

I would also recommend Hay for Pets. It's a lot lovelier and greener than the pets at home hay I used to buy and also means I don't have to go into Pets at home anymore! They do a sample pack which has Ings, Timothy&Rye and Meadow Hay so you can see what your guineas like best. It's only £3.50...

UK Need Grids/Cubes In UK and Cannot Find Anywhere! Please help :(

It's called correx in the UK Teacratepackaging.co.uk sell 2mm correx and they offer 10% discount to guinea pig owners by mentioning "guinea" as the discount code. I got mine quite quickly. It was enough for a 2x4 with a 1x2 loft. EDIT I forgot to mention that 4mm is recommended but you can...

Bedding New owner.. Bedding.. help please!

I live in Scotland and it's pretty easy to get a C&C cage sorted out if you know where to look. I bought all my supplies from the internet! The UK part of this forum has lot of help and advice as to where to shop to find the pieces required. Anyway, so far, I've used both fleece and carefresh...

Soon to be New Piggy Owner, Have some Questions :)

Regarding the third piggie. I've heard that boars rarely work in threes. I've read about people who have kept pigs for years and can't get them to work as a trio, you have to have the right mix of personalities or else it could fail and you might have to separate one of them.

    Veg*n Eggs

My mother gets her eggs from a lady that rescues battery hens. She has quite a few of them, but some of them are bald or have very little feathers so she knits them little jumpers to keep them warm in the winter. She doesn't charge much for the eggs and they roam about her farm free range. It's...

Bonding Two boars starting to bond. The beginning of a beautiful friendship?

From about day 2 of getting my little boars, there'd been a lot of rumblestrutting, and chasing around, mainly by Moose the dominant one. Strangely enough he's the most scared of people. I began to freak out and hope that I wouldn't come into the room to see bloodshed as I'm not familiar with...
