Diet Rejecting new bag of pellets

Yes, I'm tightening it properly each time. and my autocorrcect was dumb, and above it was supposed to say their water intake is down too. But they've started getting a few more occasional watery things like cucumber and watermelon now that it's gotten warmer.

Diet Rejecting new bag of pellets

Ever since I got a new bag of the same pellets ,(Oxbow cavy cuisine), Nugget and Edgar have slowly started rejecting them: dumping their bowls out and leaving them in protest, eating very little of them. Their after intake is also don. They're still eating tons of hay and all their veg, making...

Behavior I am so mad. Biting?

This exactly describes our newer guy Edgar. I never considered it could be a vision issue, but he does seem to not bite so much if we approach from the front. I'll try that from now on!

Bonding I have a case of the piggie lovies right now

I feel so bonded with them! This weekend, two other people who visited held the piggies on their lap one at a time, on the same blanket I always use for lap time. They provided no happy squeaks and talking like they do with me. I thought before maybe they just like being petted, but it appears...

Behavior My Guinea pig constantly makes noises! Why?

My Nugget became quieter after we got Edgar! it was so funny... he just designated Edgar as the main talker. Now Nugget is fairly quiet unless he smells fruit or he's in my lap with one-on-one conversation time.

Behavior Little stinker likes his hay on the floor. Why?

lol lollollol Nugget wasn't a terrible hay waster until Edgar came along. it's like Edgar said, "hey, dude - if you reject 95% of your hay, they give you new, better stuff. Try it." I've tried hay racks with smaller and smaller access areas between the bars/slats, but they foil me every time...

Biting Do any of your piggies chew your C&C cages?

My newer pig is chewing the wires to death to where the paint is coming off. Is that a concern that he could be ingesting it? He has plenty of wood stuff and cardboard to chew, but he prefers the wires. Also, he is still a biting little thing, though it's gotten better. He loves to be petted...

Bonding They definitely like each other

I love how they can go from squabbling to cuddling within minutes. They're so funny and cute!

Biting New piggie is nipping at me

Oh and to add, this behavior only occurs when he's actually in the cage. Once I am holding him or he's sitting on me, he doesn't nip or bite, and he makes happy squeaks and coos when I'm petting him in any spot.

Biting New piggie is nipping at me

So my new guy Edgar is nipping at me. Not enough to draw blood, but he seems a bit scared perhaps? I have to chase him down to take him out of the cage, and when I go to pick him up, he turns around and a bit dramatically lunges at me and nips several times and makes a squeal-y noise. If I'm...

    Sounds Rumbling, purring, or shivering???

Before we got Edgar last week, Nugget was rumblestrutting for his stuffed ducky toy. lol

Popcorning Sounds in pain or upset?

Mine make a happy squeal of sorts sometimes when they popcorn. To me, it's a happy noise.

Exercise Best playpen for a guinea pig?

I bought four wire shelves from Home Depot (about $5 each) and zip-tied two each together. They fold flat and I store them folded. I then use a U-Haul pad as a mat. it's this set-up here:
