My guinea pigs do the same exact thing. The more they seem to know I don't want them doing something, the more they absolutely NEED to do it!

I think I'm holding them right, I put one hand to support their front and the other hand under their backside. I think I might try holding Cora and Allie in a folded towel to make them feel more secure and hid away. Thanks for your post!

I have four piggies, Lilo is nearing adulthood, I'd say Roxy is a "teenager" and Cora and Allie are young. Lilo and Roxy barely even let me pet them when they're in the cage. I never do anything to frighten them..they like to come up to the cage and talk to me and I always make sure they're well...

Alright, here's my "food island" blueprint. I put "absorption" because that's where you'd put what you use to absorb pee if you have a kitchen area...I use Yesterday's News.

I know I cant speak from experience, but I think my pigs would do alright. I'm definitely going to try and do what you said, bpatters. Hopefully my dad will let me. What would I have them in while in the car? The pet store cage I would later use as a kitchen?

I suppose I could afford it because it's not like I dont spend a lot on them anyways, but my parents won't let me because they'll think it's ridiculous.

We're driving. It's about 7 hours. I can't afford to hire a pet sitter for practically half of December.

I had her in my lap for like 20 seconds and she was ready to go! I'm all for letting her explore but I also want her to be used to being held, you know? I didn't even think to grab food, I'll do that next attempt
