You did the right thing. No rescue should support breeding, and you're going to get an offensive reply no matter how you say it. But it's so great that you and your mum run a guinea pig rescue!

Tumor Guinea Pig Tumour - oppinions

My piggy had a tumor, but that was because he had cancer. He had to be put down. If your piggy doesn't have cancer, it's much less risky, but I think surgery may be the best choice right now so it doesn't get worse. I'm not too skilled with piggy health problems, so I'd wait for some replies...

Introductions Say hello to some new family members!

Pumpkin sure is happy! She was all alone since her friend passed away, and I couldn't put Theo with her (don't need new babies). But Pumpkin livened up as soon as she was put into the cage with the new girls!

Introductions Say hello to some new family members!

Well, an old friend was giving away some free piggies, because her son was allergic, both piggies are female. They came with a 6x2 C&C cage, and they love it! I put my only boy on the second level, and the girls in the first. I was worried that the new ones wouldn't get along with my Pumpkin...

General My 4-5 Month old Piggy had a baby! Very unexpected! Help!

I agree with @ThePigAlchemist, If you neuter him, he can stay with the whole group!

Bonding when and how to introduce?

Let him settle in for a week or so, then put the other boy somewhere where he can SEE him, but not touch him, do that for a few days. Then try putting them together. They may fight in the beginning, so be ready to pick on of them up if a fight breaks loose. I don't normally introduce males to...

Want a Guinea Pig(s) My Mum won't allow me to get another guinea pig?

Piggies are very social animals, to them, being alone is a shock. If you absolutely, after everything, cannot convince your mum, I suggest getting a small stuffed animal (weird, I know. But it worked for my Punkin! She plays with it, snuggles with it).

Want a Guinea Pig(s) My Mum won't allow me to get another guinea pig?

I do agree that you should devote your time to school, and give all your love to your older piggy. But the 'Guinea pigs are just for 10 year olds," thing? No way! I mean, I'm not an adult, I'm only 13, but I love my guinea pigs as much as any animal.

Bonding Guinea pig terrified of new baby.

I neutered my Ginger (renamed Mr. Ginger after my Cocoa had 6 pups), because A. I didn't want more babies, and B. because he was a grumpy pig, and I read neutering made them a little calmer and such. Well, they were right, my Ginger had a complete change of attitude.

Bonding Guinea pig terrified of new baby.

I agree with @bpatters . Be very careful when you are introducing new piggies, and if it isn't meant to be, you may want to neuter him and put him with the other boys. Some piggies just don't get along.
