Medications Are these medications safe? (Infacol vs. Ovol; Probiotic Acidophilus - Life Brand)

Hi,

I have a few questions...

1. Is Ovol safe for guinea pigs? Is hydrogen peroxide a safe ingredient for guinea pigs?
2. Is Infacol safe for guinea pigs? Is hydroxypropylmethylcellulose a safe ingredient?
3. Is Ovol better than Infacol?
4. Is Life Brand Probiotic Acidophilus safe for guinea pigs?

If anyone would like a list of medical and non-medical ingredients, please let me know. It's the non-medical ingredients that have me scratching my head.

Ovol's and Infacol's active ingredient is simethicone, and that's safe for guinea pigs for gas/bloat. The medicines appear to be about the same.

Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose appears to be used mainly in cataract surgery. How do you see it being used in guinea pigs?

Acidophilus is safe for guinea pigs.

Hydrogen peroxide shouldn't be used. It used to be regarded as a safe anti-bacterial cleanser, but later research has shown that it's very drying to the tissues, and actually causes more harm than good.

Hydroxypropylmethycellulose and hydrogen peroxide are non-medical ingredients in one or two of the medications I mentioned. Thanks for the fast response!!

If those two ingredients are used in the other meds, they'll be ok.
