Hi all,

Has anyone tried or used Kaytee Soft Sorbent Bedding? I was just wondering because it looks good (almost like Carefresh). Its just that Carefresh in Hawaii is SOOOO expensive and very rare to find. For the 10L bag, it cost $7+ and for the 50L bag its $30+!

Please let me know the pros and cons if you know it! Thanks!

50 L may look like a lot, but really it isnt. for someone i know who has a 2x5 cage, a 50L bag will last 2 cage cleans, and for 30 dollars, that is a lot starbucks! besides, kaytee isnt really supposed to bea good brand for anything

It works fine I have tried it. I know it isn't a good brand to support but I needed bedding so I bought it. I mean atleast I wasn't buying their food, or pine, or cedar.

Um it is easier to spot clean since it is white you can see it better. But if you really wanted to support "carefresh" then just buy "carefresh ultra" it's white.

It doesn't last long if you don't spot clean but then again neither does "carefresh".

Yes 50L does last a long time but I would never ever pay $30 for it. I pay $13.99 for 50L. I don't usually buy it but right now I am.

oh ya I forgot to tell you I use aspen under the care fresh. It lasts 2-3 changes depending on how much I use. (keep in mind I have a 2x4 cage but 1x2 of that change has towels, so I only use carefresh on 2x3 of one my cages) I have other cages but they are big, so I would never even think of using carefresh in those cages. And I spot clean twice a day so my bedding can last 2-3 weeks in between changes.

I used that it was soft. I don't use it now. I use Critter Care (like carefresh) mixed with pine (it IS kiln-dried there is no dust).

I use aspen underneath a thin layer of carefresh. Very cost-cutting and effective at the same time. Kaytee is ok, but since they sell cedar, pine, and some bad pet foods, I personally won't support them.

It IS a good bedding. It is soft and absorbes well. It is lighter then carfresh so you could see.

It's somewhat dusty and it's finer than carefresh. It spews all over the place when kicked, too, causing more cleanup time. I much prefer carefresh to this cheaper brand. I've heard good things about Cell-Sorb, though, and it's also much cheaper!

I didn't notice any dust when I used it. If use Critter Care now. It is like carfresh but is cheeper, I think. You can get it at Walmart (I don't know if you have a Walmart in Hawaii).

It just looks like very small (less than 1/4" diameter) balls of grey fluffy paper. It's sort of like carefresh, only smaller.

Ok just got the pictures. One is the bag and the other is the stuff (may be a little bit lighter because of the flash)

Yay! Thanks a ton, Mu!

How much was the bag, and how much is in it? Is it only at WalMart? Is there any site that shows it?
