My guinea pig pup turned 5 weeks old today, but she only weighs 120g.Is this bad??She only weighed 35-45g at birth, the whole litter weighed in that range because their mom is so small. She isn’t the runt of the litter, the runt has passed away recently. She has only been gaining a few grams everyday. She has unlimited alfalfa hay and pellets. She eats well, popcorns around the cage and is very talkative. Her tummy is round.

Guinea pigs are no more the same size and shape than people are. As long as she's steadily gaining and is active, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thank you,but will she grow up to be a very petite guinea pig?She weighs much less than normal pups when they’re born.

Maybe, but there's no way to know until she's grown.

Cocoa (her name) is 6 wks old today and she is 176g.Have she been gaining enough weight?
