We have fed spring mix to our guinea pigs for a very long time. It contains some spinach. Is it ok to keep feeding?

The main concern for many is the spinach which is high in calcium. I watch my overall cavy diet pretty carefully and I have been feeding spring mix every day for more than five years with no problems. OTOH, if you notice any calcium being excreted in their urine, then you may want to rethink the situation.

What does it look like when calcium is excreted from the urine?

As I said, I haven't encountered this problem with my cavies. But from what I know, the urine may have a milky-white color to it or you may find gritty particles (like fine sand) as a residue on your fleece. Perhaps someone with more experience than I will come along and clarify.

Ok thank you.
