Orchard grass is good for guinea pigs. It's a long strand variety that they need.
This particular brand is just hay, nothing bad added like seeds or dried pieces of veggies (yuck!). I don't see any reason for you not to get it.

Seems fine to me. Hay is hay. It's orcharf grass, which is a fine hay to give your pigs.

$2.88 per pound. That's a pretty good price too.

That's actually pretty expensive when you can get a whole square bale of hay for that.

I 'heard' that the big bales are not as good quality for piggys, they are more for horses and livestock. Maybe someone can confirm that. I am a newbie myself to piggy ownership.

Tractor supply sells big bales of timothy hay. I wish I could do that. My mom has the only car and she doesn't want hay in it.

@mamaduck71 You can definitely find good quality bales of hay. The big boxes and bales may have some undesirable pieces here and there but overall they are a much better value than buying store bought bags.

Anyone in the US can get 50 boxes of Oxbow Timothy or Orchard grass for very good prices from Dr. Foster and Smith. They have sale events sometimes too where shipping is free. You can also look into hay from SPS and KMS. The larger quantity you order, the more cost effective it is.

You can most definitely feed baled hay to pigs though, just be sure that it is good quality.

Hay is hay. It's just dried grass. Besides, horse people are even more crazy than guinea pig people about what they feed their animals. I know people who try each new bag of grain, bale of hay and treat themselves to make sure it tastes "good". Its bizarre because some of them can tell you which horses like which types of taste.
