For those of you that don't know, I had been looking into adopting a hamster. We brought Peanut home from the shelter yesterday!

Sorry for starting yet another thread, but the other two were related to hamster care, and possible names. This is for pictures to share with you all! They may be a bit blurry, as Peanut is very speedy!

(Note: our bin cage is not finished yet. We're putting in mesh windows today. The shelter cage was way too small and unsafe, so we had to move Peanut right away.)

OMG is Peanut cute.. Our last dwarf hammie died about 2 weeks ago. If we can't find another to adopt before xmas this will be the first hamster less xmas since 2004 ugh.. We must have adopt, or saved around 40 since 2004.

Aww sorry for your loss, we where looking at robo dwarf hammys yester day, they where sooooo cute and so short i wanted one but my mom wants something that lives long so i have piggies...i was thinking a anout a chinchilla as well

Thanks everyone I wish I could take him out to cuddle/play but it's too soon for that! Don't want to stress the poor guy out.

I'm such a paranoid hamster mama, every time he's asleep I have to go make sure he's still breathing! And because of his colour, he blends in with his nesting material, which can make it hard to find him sometimes. I find myself constantly checking on him :crazy:
