Said goodbye to my senior pig, Charlie today. He was nearing 6 years old and had developed a small tumor near his back legs in recent days. He was the only pig I've ever known whose ears stood straight up instead of flopping down. Held him in a blanket on my lap as he passed. RIP little man.
@CavyMama, I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost two of mine this Summer so I know how you're feeling. My Wolfbane was just about 6, too, but Moo was younger and it was really unexpected. It's really hard, no matter what age they are. Charlie was a handsome guy.... beautiful coloring.
Omgosh I am so sorry. I know you made his life a happy one. My heart goes out to you on this day. Sending you some prayers. R.I.P Charlie have fun over the rainbow bridge.
@pinky - Thanks for your kind words. Of the pigs I have had, three have been adoptions from Critter Corral. Charlie (previously Grant) was my second adoption from them. Although he was a senior pig, he was still quite the spry little guy right up until about the last week or so. He had been hiding a lot but really perked up about 3 months ago when I introduced him to Turtle, his eventual buddy. They quickly became best buds, ate next to each other, slept nose to nose, followed each other around.
@Starthecavy123 - Thanks. He seemed happy, especially with Turtle.
@Kelsie - I appreciate that He really was a sweet & handsome little guy.
