Fleece AND Bedding ?!

Hey guys! I cannot remember for the life of me where I saw this, but I know somewhere on this site I had seen either a picture/picture comment or a thread from a member who used both fleece and bedding in their cage.
I am actually wanting to try this - having only about 1/4 with bedding and the rest fleece. Anyway, the person had somehow seperated the fleece from the bedding - so it didn't drag over too much, and I cannot recall how

If anyone knows how, or knows where to find the answer, let me know! The cage will be all done by the afternoon!

Thanks :cheerful:

I don't remember seeing this so I can't tell you how this person did it. The only thing I can think of making another coroplast base with much shorter sides for the bedding area. That should keep most of the beding in one place but the pigs would still be able to get in and out easily.

If I understand correctly, I think I remeber seeing something in the photo gallerie that may help. The person had a separate coroplate box for the bedding and made the lip not too high (maybe 5') and then put a fiddlestix ramp over so the pigs could climb over easily and then put a flat tile ( I guess you could use a large cloth?) where they came out on the fleece. It stoped the bedding getting on it.

Sorry if that wasn't very clear, I'm not usually good at explaining things.

Okay - so ... I have decided to go back to bedding, but I am going to section off a part of each level to where I put fleece down. It's just really been more trouble then anything with just the fleece alone

Between my piggies running laps under the fleece (despite using bricks, binder clips, etc.) and really it's been alot more mess in general, then the bedding. It's impossible to keep it looking halfway descent and me feeling like it's okay for them, because the hay gets everywhere, and when it comes time to wash, there are hay bits that get stuck in the washer/dryer. Plus I live in Texas, and it seems as though the fleece has just been a magnet for gnats in this summer weather.

So here goes another try - and I'm going to do the fleece/bedding (maybe that will work better?!)

Wish me luck !!

More or less, that is what I was trying to describe. It was actually somebody else who had done it (not a regular/active member that I have noticed), but that's the jist of it! Thanks, and no worries, you were helpful !

Have a good one :cheerful:
