Cotton Bedding

It looks like it's meant to be a nesting material rather than an absorbent material. Cotton does not wick moisture away like fleece (or something like Carefresh) does and it would be very rapidly gross and clammy.

I think it's something for hamsters and small animals like them.

I was "raised" (through research) to avoid cotton for pretty much any small animals. Limbs can get caught in the fibers and cause grave injuries (broken bones, cut-off circulation, choking from trying to eat it, etc.). It's a wonder why stores even sell it, it's that bad. For smaller animals (not sure about hamsters, actually, but mice, certainly), cutting up small pieces of fleece works great as bedding or nesting material.
