I've heard many people say that they have trained their guinea pigs to use a litter box. I do not know how to do this, is it easy? Is Cookie too old to learn? He's about 3 years old now. I'm switching him to a C&C cage sometime this week(hopefully today), and I know litter training him would make cleaning the cage a lot easier than it already will be. So, how do you litter train a guinea pig???

I don't think you can actually train a gp. Mine happen to be trained by accident. When I adopted my girls, they were in a store cage for about 3 weeks (gasp). I used shavings for bedding.

Then I build them a c&c cage with a kitchen. Their kitchen has shavings and the rest is fleeece. Well, to this day, they pee in the kitchen only.

So you might want to try the shavings now. Then when you put them in their bigger cage, use shavings in the kitchen only.
