Im thinking of expanding my cage.

Should i make it 2x8 with s 2x4 "basement", or a 2x8 with 1x8 "shelf" on top, or a 2x8 with seperate 2x2 sections on the bottom

I think you should make a 2x8 with a 2x4 basement. Or maybe even a 2x4 top level.

I dont want a top level, unless its a shelf. I already have troublew reaching my pigs that are under the current 2x2 top story

No problems at all. But I like the 2x4 basement idea.

I had a "basement" before I remodeled. I liked it, but the ramps didnt work in the long run.

I think i may be leaning towrad shelf, ti will be easier to get my pigs, always running away.

By any chance, does anyone know how to train a pig to walk up to you?

I just noticed, Happy Birthday!:D

Thanks!
Bribing with food is the key to everything. lol

my pigs NEVER come up, even with treats or carrots!

Is it too early or late to start training, they are 4-5 months old

my guinea pig is almost 7 months old and he still doesnt like veggies, so i dont think its too early or too late. I bribe him with timothy.

so, im going with the 2x8, 1x8.

Do you get drafts on the floor of a big room thats like a "hallway", but its actually a room, and it is also up-stairs. I may wanna make a run for my guinea pigs, that goes ont he ground. WIllt hat cause URI?

I chose a different design. Instead of a plain 2x8, its gonna be this.

So, Im gonna redesign!

I can't see the photo.
