Hello there,
I have a guinea pig that is around six years and nine months old. She has been healthy her whole life. Recently though, she began to get patches on her sides of scab-like skin. The scabs proceeded to come off along with several around 6 to 10 hairs attached. I kept a close eyeon her and even took her to the vet when it rapidly became worse. The vetlooked at her hair and skin under a microscope and said there is no fungal, bacterial, mites, lice, or anything of that sort on her skin to cause such aproblem. She isn?t in pain and doesn?t scratch any more than she normally did.She is treated for fleas and other parasites, so I thought maybe it was a VitaminC deficiency maybe scurvy. Since then, I have given her more Vitamin C enrichedfoods such as red peppers and the best pellets I could find. The vet did giveus two medicines to apple to soothe the skin and maybe help, but it has done absolutelynothing. Her heart and everything is fine, so I am just looking for some help. Shemeans the world to me, and I would do anything to help her. There are some photosthat I attached. They show some bald patches, pieces of fur that has come off,and patches that are in the process of falling off. Also note that her hairlooks greasy because of the medicine. I'm new to this so if I did something wrong sorry.
Thank you.
