Hi,
I am looking for a friend for my 7 month old guinea pig Sunshine.
I have multiple options
1.2-3 week old guinea pig
2.4-6 month old guinea pig
Sunshine doesn't get mad too easily.Sunshine and his brother Jolt don't get along very well always after a couple of minutes teeth chattering starts to happen bites are exchanged etc..Jolt is the same age as Sunshine so I am thinking that the younger guinea pig is better
Is this true?

Thank You SO much.

Not necessarily.

How big is your cage?

How are you introducing them?

Where are the potential buddies coming from?

1.My cage is a 2x4 C and C cage
2.I am planning to let them meet in an area where my 7 month old hasn't been before and get them used to each other
3.They are coming from an adoption center

A 2x4 is almost always never big enough for 2 boars, especially 2 who are in their "teenage phase". I'd suggest expanding your cage to AT LEAST a 2x5, bigger is better, and try Sunshine and Joly together again. Include 2 of everything in the cage. Make the cage as big as you can.

Well, I think if you try with a bigger cage there won't be a need to get another piggie but if it needs to happen I would go with the younger one.

Also about the bigger cage thing I can't get the 2x5 as it costs a lot and also I do not have the space to put a 2x5 guinea pig cage

Your pig needs a buddy. Pick a pig. There's no way to know in advance which one will work best. The younger one will likely be easier at the beginning, but there's nothing to say that he won't turn into a wild man with puberty and be much worse than the other one.

There are no guarantees with guinea pigs. You pays your money and you takes your choices.
