How to Keep a Grid Lid Up?!

I am (hopefully) getting a cat, or maybe fostering kittens! I tried to make a lid for my 3X3, and when I tried to put it on, it sagged horribly. I have no idea how to make it work. What my plan was is to have it overlapping a teensy bit, and then have it fold onto the back 1/3of the cage, where it wouldn't be in the way. Any ideas or tips on how to make it work?!

You put a grid where the joints meet. You over lap it to support the joint. I do that with mine and it works well. Its hard to explain but here is a picture. Let me know if you need further explanation.

Thank you! Sorry I didn't reply, I kind of forgot about it! :) Thanks for your help! I'll try it!

You can also get a length of 2x2 and put it across the middle of the cage, lengthwise, and let it extend beyond the grid walls slightly. It will give support to the back row of grids, and then you can zip tie the front row to the back row.

Thanks, bpatters! What exactly is a 2X2? Coroplast? Wood?

ive been having this exact same problem with my 2X3 cage, the top part seems to sag down the middle making it hard to have a secure and stable roof top to my guineas cage, and also makes it harder to clean. im deff going to try this out.! :)

Glad I could help with my question! :D
