Impaction Single poops getting stuck in perineal sac, is this impaction?

I try not to clean them down there that often, but for Paxil I have to do it almost daily due to the poops getting stuck/mushing up in there. It's gross, but idk what else to do. I use mineral oil in hopes that it'll help stuff not stick, but it doesn't really seem to have an effect. =/

Impaction Single poops getting stuck in perineal sac, is this impaction?

Yep! Sometimes it's his cecal pellets and he eats those right away, other times he won't me they're his regular poops.

Impaction Single poops getting stuck in perineal sac, is this impaction?

I get alerted to it when I can feel something in it, and also because sometimes he has a mess of poop all in the area and I find it when cleaning him up.

Impaction Single poops getting stuck in perineal sac, is this impaction?

Hey guys! I have a 1 year 9 month old boar, Paxil. He's a big peeg, a little over 2 lbs, and kinda... lazy. Ever since his adoption I noticed he's never really liked jumping or climbing on things like the other peegs do -- like, Zoloft will go ontop of the fiddle sticks tunnel, etc, but Paxil...

Coroplast Coroplast Stores Open on Weekends around Greater Twin Cities, MN?

Hello! I am in urgent need of coroplast. After a nasty fight, I had to separate my boys and remake cages. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any place that is open on weekends? I can't seem to find any... =/

Dominance Constant mounting... is this normal?

Yep! I even laid towels down on the floor that were washed twice to make sure no smells were present. Thank you for your reply. I think I just needed to be reassured that this was 'normal'. Also, I can still give them floor time together, correct? They're all still in the same cage together...

Dominance Constant mounting... is this normal?

It's been a while since I've done intros, but recently I adopted a young 3 week old piggie to pair with my older boars who are all 2 yrs old now. Intros went well, no big issues, but it's day 4, and the 'top pig' is still mounting the baby like crazy. It's as if he's a man obsessed; he will even...

    Fleece Prepping/Treating Fleece Question

Hello! I have a question: when treating/prepping newly purchased fleece, I am aware that it needs to be washed multiple times so that it will wick away fluid to the UHaul pads. I was wondering though... do we need to use soap each time it's washed in the washer after being dried? I'd hate to...

    General Question about gnawing needs

I was wondering if it is necessary to keep something wooden in with guinea pigs for them to keep their incisors from growing too long. I know they keep their teeth in check with hay, but I seem to remember reading that hay eating did not help with incisors staying at a healthy length. I am...

Skin Problems Hard thick "thing" found stuck in my piggie's hair...what is this?

Just an update in case anyone was wondering how Prince Valium was doing. He healed up completely fine; I just kept a close eye on the wound and he did the rest. The piggie who did the deed (Zoloft) has been acting very...frisky lately, so I'm betting it will happen again. I'm thinking of getting...

Skin Problems Hard thick "thing" found stuck in my piggie's hair...what is this?

See, this same thing had happened last May. I had left my piggies with my parents because I went to Florida with some friends. I came back, and freaked out, because again, I thought something had grown out of him while I was gone. He had several of these on him. But, they didn't seem to hurt him...

Skin Problems Hard thick "thing" found stuck in my piggie's hair...what is this?

You mean like....dried semen? x_x His grease gland is located elsewhere on his body though, so I don't think that's it. I'm going to keep an eye on the wound since I am tight on money, but if it starts to look worse I'll take him in.

Skin Problems Hard thick "thing" found stuck in my piggie's hair...what is this?

So I picked up my Prince Valium today and was snuggling (although he haaaatessss it), and I noticed that he had this weird...clump in his fur. He squeeked every time I touched it, and at first I was scared that it had grown out of him, but realized it had just become hard while stuck in his fur...

1 Year Old Male, Coon Rapids, Minnesota

Sadly I had to give my precious guinea pig Prozac up for adoption at the Animal Humane Society in Coon Rapids, MN today. I just could no longer afford to give him the care he deserves due to money constraints. I know someone will be able to do that for him. He's very good with people, and...
