I've had 3 boars get along fine in a 2x4, and a different trio do fine in a 2x5. I've also got 3 right now who really struggle to be civil to each other in a 2x8. So it depends entirely on the dudes in question what size they can live comfortably in.
Best thing to do would be to sit down and draw it out and count for yourself how many grids you need. Stands and lids can be done differently and it's entirely up to you the way you do it. That's kind of the point.
I would think you will need more than 60 grids to include a sturdy stand...
Zeolites are fine. They're helpful with odor control.
Fir is fine and after extensive research I've come to the conclusion that kiln dried cedar is fine, especially in small quantities. You might consider doing some research on your own rather than just listening to the standard party line on...
It would seem that you think the "thing to do" is insinuate that the poster is a troll and then snipe about whether or not he's wearing a shirt.
Yes, I realize the only possible treatment for a situation like this is a vet, but I also realize that some people don't race off to an exotics vet...
You know, it's unfortunate that someone can't come along and ask for help without being accused of being a troll or told to put a shirt on or told not to hold him this way or that, the pig won't live another day, etc. If you don't know what to do, that's one thing, say that.
@leebaldwin, you...
Actually, I just can't understand why, if you're giving up meat to spare some animals from dying, you seem to prefer tortillas with fat from animals being killed for their meat. Maybe that isn't what you meant, but it's the way it sounds from your original post.
And, again, your comment was...
So, the thing that I've not seen addressed here is that live feeding reptiles is dangerous to the reptile. Or at least, it has the potential to be dangerous. And, that being the case, why take a chance with a pet you love? Rodents bite, and aside from any cruelty imposed on the prey animal, why...
I've ordered 11 of these cages over the years and never had an issue with one arriving bent or broken.
Buying them used can be problematic for these reasons for sure though.
Nation cages are modular. To put two together like these folks have done, you simply leave off the end doors of each full cage that will form the middle and secure them with a zip tie or metal tie. You can see that's the way the person did it in the photo I'm attaching.
The long shelves are...
Not sure from a nutritional aspect, but I ordered Sherwood Forest pellets once and they smelled absolutely horrible. Like motor oil. I messaged them and they asked me to send it back so they could check it out. Their response was that it was normal and a good representation of their typical...
Is buying locally an option? I had to find a good source of hay and pellets after a fairly terrible customer service interaction with KMS and fortunately I'm able to find absolutely beautiful orchard grass locally. Not sure what your options might be in CT, though.
It looks like the colored stuff is dehydrated fruits and vegetables, partially. Not necessarily the best, but also not terrible. There's also some colored pieces that have added color. You could pick those out.
Rather than relying on a recommendation from this or any other forum, learn what...
There's nothing shocking about it, and kijiji doesn't have any rules against breeder ads, I don't think. You can report it, but it'd likely be ignored since many people still do house mammals in tanks.
I absolutely cannot decipher your logic. If you don't have a problem with animal products, what is your concern with the animal fat?
And if you are trying to give up meat, presumably as a result of concerns over factory farming, why would it somehow be better if the animal whose fat is used in...
