I'm wondering about some of Sanchez's behaviors. He's been real timid ever since we got him (end of april) even still. He drinks SO much water. More than I've ever seen a piggy drink on a regular basis. Are these normal things? He has an open mulit level cage and my cat gets in there any lays down sometimes. She's never hurt Sanchez. Though she is a cat, she swated him a couple of times durring thier firs kitty piggy encounters. Could this be why he is timid?

My oreo is still timid and runs like mad when I try and catch her, she even squeels when caught. She doesnt apprieciate lap time to my knowledge, and nail trimming time, watch out. So it very well can just be your pigs normal behavior. I do know that eggy drinks alot from his water bottle, havent noticed it much more then usual in the girls cage. I do think, part of that could just be boredom for eggy. Im not sure, and its another month or so before the snip. As for the cat, I have a grate on top of the cage to prevent my cat from going in there. As of yet, jack has only done a few swats at them, closed paw, in an investigative type a way, but cats are preditory creatures, and I dont want to take the chance that he will hurt the pigs. Cant say as the pigs seem to mind him in the cage, I just dont want to chance it. Remember, sanchez will always have the fear of being eaten in him. Its obviously not something that can be bred out of pigs, or it would have probably been done so by now. He may lighten up if he knows the cat cant get him. Lets face it, my cat, outweighs my pigs by 9 pounds + .... thats probably pretty scary to a pigger.
