Writing an essay on Petstores and Breeding!

Today, I received an assignment in school on persuasive writing. We are allowed to write about any topic we want as long as we get it approved by my teacher.
I knew right away what I was going to "persuade" people about; not supporting pet stores and breeders.
I am not sure if I will be reading in front of my class or not, but I think I could find other people to teach about this issue. I have already given "speeches" I guess you can call them to a bunch of friends about pet stores, etc... , but I think others should know too.
I am gathering research on this topic, so if you have any input you think is important for me to include, PM me, or post it to the thread.

Breeding Guinea Pigs would be helpful. Also if your teacher approves and you do a great job you could use that to help persuade them to stop breeding there pigs.

last Month my daughter had to write a Persuassive essay. She chose to write about BSL (breed specific legislation). Good luck on yours!

I was horrified and my brother kept saying, your dumb for watching that, you know that not true right. Your getting dumbier by watching that.

Unforunately all of that is bull, what he said I mean.

I hate when people say the ASPCA commercials and that video are "fake". It irks (I love saying that word ) me when people say that. They don't realize the severity of animal welfare and cruelty. One time when someone at my niece's party asked me what I'd to with $50mil I based it all on shelters, vet school and animal cruelty and they said "Why are you so obsessed with helping animals? Why don't you become a real doctor and help PEOPLE. They're just animals. Those idiotic commercials are fake! " My response was "Animals aren't "just" animals. They're living breathing animals. Animal cruelty is no joke. Those commercials aren't fake. They're real." Then when we busted the breeder I took him to see those animals faces when we rescued them and the conditions they were in.

I hate people that act they are better then animals. If we are better then how come the animals and plant nucleus are study in science. We are animals which make those kind of people look even worse. Also we are not the smartest animal out there, but the pig is on the top 5 list!!

We finally got the assignment requirements today. I asked my teacher if we can include stories from others about experiences with petstores. If you have any stories that prove the wrong doings of petstores and cruelty, and you would like to share, please PM me.
And I do have to give an at least 10 minute presentation on this. I have decided to include in my topic a little bit of backyard breeders as well.

Are you going to cover all pets or just guinea pigs specifically? You might even call up the animal conrol officer/s in your area. Ask if you can interview them about any backyard breeders or puppy mills they have come across on their job. Talk to your local shelters and rescues to. They will likely be able to provide you with lots of info and experiences.

I am going to cover all animals because it isn't just guinea pigs that are in petstores, and come from breeders and are in shelters.
I think I will give a control officer a call. That is a very good idea, thanks.
