Hi, right seeing as I seem to be having a few probs getting any cubes I was thinking that this idea maybe ok. I made my glider cages and was thinking how about I just do the same for the piggies. I would make a lightweight wood frame and attach plastic coated mesh to it and make a hinged lid. Ive added a pic of one of my glider cages to give you an idea, obviously it would be the same but laid on its back with correx inside to cover the base and 6 inches up the sides. I cant think of a reason why this wouldnt work...what do you think? It would be approx 60 x 24 for 2 piggies.

That looks good to me, though I just wonder if ordinary mesh would be better if you've got nibblers! My first cage was homebuilt using something similar, and worked really well. Looking at the guidelines on the home page for sizing, it is just a wee bit short on the width for two piggies.

Check out the alternative cages in the gallery for further inspiration:

Let us know how you get on! (with pics ofcourse!)

The inside usable dimensions need to be at least 28"x42" for 2 sows and preferably 28"x56" for 2 boars. The 60" in length is great but the width does need to be 4" wider for just the inside dimensions.

You would also have to line it with coroplast or linoleum.

Yes I think those grids would be okay but I'm not totally sure on that. The other cage you would like to build sounds fine! Just first see if your guineas are chewers because they might be able to chew through the mesh.

The mesh is galvanised but plastic coated on top, Ive got some left after making the gliders cage (they cant have galvanised mesh)
