Wood for houses/ramps

Is untreated pine (wood) safe to use in my guinea pigs cage?
I know pine bedding is bad but does this apply to the wood too? I have one pig that chews things quite a bit so she will almost definatly chew on it.

I don't think so! Stick with what you know is okay for them.

Aren't most of those wooden houses hide-a-ways made of pine?
