My husband would like to make my son a new cage for his pigs. He has one of the first homes (smaller cage) and since finding this website, we have found it is too small. He wants to use plywood for the bottom and put some sort of waterproof resign (not sure if that is the right word, but like fiberglassing the bottom so it is waterproof) on it so that the water and urine is not soaking into the wood. Is this okay for the pigs. I'm thinking when the bigger cage is done I will probably try the fleece for the bedding. We are now trying the litter box in the smaller cage to see what happens!! Thanks in advance for your input.

You can put a piece of coroplast down for the bottom. Just make sure you use some sort of bedding on top of the waterproof material so they dont go slipping and sliding.

Coroplast is definitely the easiest way to go. I got a 4'x5' piece for only $15 - a blue one too! So with coroplast you even have a choice of colors. Otherwise, I've also heard of vinyl shower curtains or linoleum with cardboard boxes and newspapers and such.
