I'm going to see if I can make a cage out of wood and some other stuff after I get my loft bed. Does anyone else have a wood cage? What did you use for the sides? I just want it to have a wooden base and sides made out of some other material. I want to put coroplast on the bottom, and use fleece. What kind wood would be best? Anyone have any pictures? Right now, I have a C&C cage. I want a wooden cage because I think it'd look better and it'd be sturdier too, I think.

I know that there are a lot of pictures in the gallery of wood cages. I read that a lot of people use linoleum flooring on the bottom. Sorry I can't really help, I have a C&C cage too.

Edit: I also know that some people use pelxi glass for the sides of the cage if that is what you mean. And pine and cedar should not be used for the cage.

You'll need to totally protect the wood from any urine, or it will smell and get moldy pretty quickly. You'll also have to build it of kiln-dried wood if the pigs will have any access to the wood, and use a safe finish, because they'll chew if they can.

Ok! Thank you both. bpatters: I was going to put coroplast to protect the wood and to keep them from chewing it. :)
