hey I am new here and just recently received two female guinea pigs from a local shelter.
The two guinea pigs are very friendly and love floortime and being held.
Earlier today I was hand feeding one of them on my lap when the sound of a dog barking made her jump off my lap to the ground about a metre below.
She doesn't appear to be hurt and is running around as usual but she was a bit startled when it happened and acted funny should I go to a vet or will she be okay?

If she doesn't appear hurt, I wouldn't rush her to the vets. Save the money for a real emergency. If she is all puffed up( they do that in pain) and limping by all means take her to the vets.

But let that be a lesson to you. If the pig is in your lap, it should be secure. Either you're holding on to it, or barking dogs are confined far enough away that the barking doesn't startle the pig.
