Hi everybody!
Ok, Last time I wrote here I only had my one little Mrs.Piggie. I understood that she needed a friend so I went on a piggie hunt and found a note posted in a vet office about baby cavys for sale...so my little Mrs.Piggie got her friend! She is a 4 week old 3 color fluffy little thing and just sooooooo adorable! Thouse two get along just fine and I could tell how excited Mrs.Piggie got when she heard another cavy!
But then my friends guinea pigs started not to get along. She had 3 females in a cage. So I offered to take one of her females and then maybe her cage would calm down....but it looks like I got the trubble maker because that cavy is just plain mean to my 2 girls! Or let me put it this way...she will accept the baby, but absolutly not Mrs.Piggie! She will snapp at her and chase her away...and then hog the house and not let Mrs.Piggie in!
So I devided the cage where they could smell each other and talk, but not get to each other...and as soon as I removed my friends cavy, the baby started bouncing and looking VERY happy and so did Mrs.Piggie!
So...what I thought I ask all of you cavy people is: Did I get the trubble maker home? Does this cavy just not want friends or is that a normal behavior between 2 new females (even thought that behavior started already at my friends home where this cavy had been all along)? And what am I supposed to do...or what CAN I do? Should I keep them seperated or try it again...and when and how do I know if its not going to work?
Thank you all for your input in this!
