Wow, I just read the GuineaLynx section on vegetables and fruits, and it is SOOO complicated. I know that too much calcium is bad for adult cavies, but I was surprised to discover that parsley and dandelions have way more calcium than spinach! What is the scoop on wheatgrass? I've been growing it for my bird, and I've heard of it being fed to cavies. I know it is a source of calcium, but I don't know how much. Any thoughts?

Wheatgrass. If you look in the cavy photo galleries, somebody has grown wheat grass. I guess you can feed it as a snack, it's ok I would think..

Yes, it's fine to feed, although I don't know the specific nutritional breakdown.

I just ordered some wheatgrass to grow. Just something different I thought my piggies would like. I give such a varied menu to them that I stopped worrying about the foods. I have stopped worrying about too much calcium, too much vitamin c, too much acid, etc. etc.. Its enough to make you crazy. I just make sure that they get a varied assortment of veggies and a little bit of fruit each day and thats that.
