You think that is bad?? I think I have that beat..... My oldest is named Asia (yes like the continent) I understand that people may not know how her name is spelled but some people don't know how to pronounce it! Example: a nurse was calling her back to. see the doctor (and had her chart with her name spelled out) and she called out Eye-zay-yuh. [emoji33]. I mean COME ON!

My first name is Joni (pronounced like Joanie, not Johnny). I'm named after a Conway Twitty song, if any of you are old enough to know who that is. :)
We know who all the old country singers are at my house, even my five year old son likes him, along with Waylon Jennings, Loretta Lynn and many more classics! His favorite is Johnny Cash though, he can even sing a ton of his songs while playing his guitar. Not your typical five year old, I know, but the best part is that he wanted to be Johnny Cash for Halloween...

Anyway, I'm Michele :)
I used to get so mad because no one ever spelled my name right! As a kid, I always wanted one of those personalized license plates for my bike, but it was impossible to find a "one 'L' Michelle" one! Now they come with stickers so you can spell your own name, and I've been tempted to buy myself one as an adult... Lol

Lol! My cousin's cousin is Asia, too. (To be less confusing: Asia is not my cousin. The cousin is on my mom's side, and Asia is on his Dad's side.) Not a common name. Lots of people really have trouble with those.

My name is Elena. :--) Pronounced Ee-lay-nuh, though many people will just pronounce my name the way that it is spelled (Eh-leh-nuh).

My mom has the uncommon spelling Dianne instead of Diane. So that's why she named me the common Michelle. She hated that she couldn't find personalized souvenirs spelled her way as a kid. So my last Disney trip, I bought her a custom Tinkerbell glass spelled Dianne. Fifty years late, but she finally got one and loved it. I annoy almost every Dianne and Rachael I meet because I spell it "strange."

Really?! How awesome is that! I'll bet she was so excited! My mom found this for me at a garage sale shortly after I got my own place and I was so excited!!

It's just a magnet, nothing elaborate, but I still have it and it's been like 8 years! It's the only thing I've ever seen that had my name on it! I love it! :)

I think a lot of vacation spots are increasing the custom name options. Thanks to my mom’s upbringing, I love it when people ask how many “L” I use, I don’t mind clarifying. Unfortunately, most people don’t ask.

I've gotten used to automatically spelling my name out when I have to give it over the phone or anything, but I've also gotten used to people spelling it the "normal" way, too. It doesn't bother me anymore, but as a kid, it used to annoy the crap out of me! I can remember a teacher trying to correct me on writing my name one time, insisting that I was forgetting a letter! Lol I was very careful when choosing a name for my son- something that couldn't be shortened and that was easy to spell:Cole. Four letters, not overly common, but not bizarre, and a normal spelling. He even has a personalized license plate :)
A funny coincidence? My hubby's name is Jon, but he gets "John" a lot lol

My last name is a military position and people always spell it wrong. They either spell it the military way or the French way. When I called the vet for Mocha they were the first person to spell it right! In first grade I had a teacher correct me cause I didn't know how to spell my own name (!?) until she look at the attendance sheet. I mean come on people! Your teaching my generation here! Most of us are already in our phones all day lol.

As for pronucing my name people always pronuce it Joey. Joey! Does it sound like there's an e in there!? And they always spell it Joi. Most of my friends and their younger siblings just call me Jo cause they're younger sibling have trouble with the y part so it's caught on (that and I'm Tomboy beyond belief) but it's still pretty annoying when people don't know how to spell a name.... My name is Codie.
Not spelt "CODY" but same pronunciation as that.
Very uncommon spelt with an "ie" instead of an "y".

My name is Amanda. My mom said she got the idea from the song Amanda by Waylon Jennings, but if you ask my Dad, Grandpa and sisters they say I was named after Amanda Blake who played Miss Kitty on Gunsmoke. It's one of my Grandpa's favorite western shows and he said he suggested my name.

My name's Sarah (ser-ah). Some people spell it Sara, but without the H, it's pronounced (sarr-a). Nobody miss spells/pronounces it, but when someone spells their name without the H and still says it ser-ah, I want to beat them over the head with a big letter H.

And when I was in primary school (not sure what the US equivalent is but it was age 8ish) everyone in my class spelled it Sahara. I really have no idea where that came from. At all. *rolls eyes*.

It's really common in the U.S. for "Sarah" & "Sara" to be pronounced the same way.

piggymommy89 you beat me to it...I was going to say the same thing! Isn't it funny how different dialects and accents make people pronounce things differently? I had a case of frustration the other day while talking to a coworker who is from southern Indiana about important job related things and I was saying "ours" but I pronounce it "are(s)" She thought I was saying "R's," which would have been somewhat pertinent to the conversation we were having. We went around in circles until we figured out it was a dialect thing. Everyone I know pronounces it the way I did. I was in Pittsburgh once and within 1 sentence a cashier pinpointed me as being from Chicago area because of my accent. I was nearly offended because I was convinced that we don't have accents here. I googled it and apparently we do have some distinct characteristics of our words and I usually end up finding myself using them.

I'm a girl named Morgan. My family comes from Ireland, and their last name was Morgan until they came to the U.S and changed it to Organ. To keep the family name going, I was named Morgan :) For some reason, everyone always wants to spell it as Morgen, which doesn't make any sense to me.

The name Morgan can be for both guys and girls, but most of the other Morgans that I've met are guys; until a couple of weeks ago anyway. I'm a sub for my school district, and I always have the kids call me Ms. Morgan. I took a sub assignment at a school that I don't usually go to and they put me in a classroom with a teacher named Mrs. Morgan, which was very confusing for the kids lol She then told me that there's another teacher in the school whose name is Morgan. I've never been in the same building with so many Morgans at once.
