Whats wrong with my piggy?

We got our piggy, Fluffy ,last spring from a family member who couldn't keep her. My husband and I feel in love with her! I found this site last week and joined. My husband and I went to Target and bought the grids to make Fluffy a cage. (She was in one of those horrid store bought ones.) The cage we make is 2 grids wide and 4 grids long...twice as big as the old cage. We thought she would love it.

This is her second day with her new cage. She is actiing skiddish when I pet or reach for her. She isn't showing the interest in her spinach and lettuce, mostly nibbles it sometimes. She eats her pellets, hay and drinks her water. She did eat a tomatoe when I took her out and put her on the counter. This afternoon I put an extra grid dividing some of the space and have part of the cage covered on top and the side. I checked her out and she's not sick. What's wrong with my piggy? :O(

Is she losing weight? I hope you are weighing her weekly. She needs to get to the vet if she is lethargic, that is serious.

She is just getting used to her new surroundings. Give her some time and I am sure she will love her new space in no time. Maybe if she had a cage mate it wouldn't seem so overwhelming to her.

No she hasn't lost weight. she just started acting like this. She's not lethargic.

If she stops eating completely you need to be ready to force feed her every few hours. Just watch for cold symptoms (crusty nose & eyes, sneezing)

That's what my husband said... she's overwhelmed by the size of the cage.

Well now she's moving around, checking out the box I put in the cage. She iinterested in her food, checkiing out the sweet pepper, orange, spinach and such. She had drink...even came to the front of the cage when she saw me and put her head up to me.... I did call her vet. She's going to call me back.

She's probaby saying - Wow! look at this place. I am sure seeing you made her feel better also. She's going to realize nothing has really changed - she just got a bigger house.
