I had a Petco ad in the mail today and there was this special column "Think about adoption first".
I also went to a Petco last weekend just to look around and they had all these adoptable pets there from a near-by shelter.

Since everyone is saying "No to Petco"... what do you think about this?

I'm glad they're doing that, but I still think that they should only do adoption, just like they do with their dogs and cats. Why should small animals be any different? At many shelters, there are more small animals than there are dogs and cats! I just think they should stop selling altogether, though this is definitely a step in the right direction.

Dreampower

I know they sometimes let dreampower come and hold an adoption every once and a while where I live. We went to petco to look for a dog a couple of times.
They use petsmart to hold adoption fairs too. (I think thats where I'm going to get my guinea pigs) =)

I know what it's about!!

They're changing their policies pretty soon to where we are going to advise people where they can adopt pets (including small animals and reptiles) instead of buy them. I don't know if we will still have animals there though. I just overheard a big wig on the phone as I was counting my drawer (he he). I'll keep you all updated if you want.

That sounds great, CavyCrazyMom... keep us posted!

Oh I got that add in the paper, "Petco's National Adoption Day" well I went to my local petco and they won't be having any adoptable piggies just cats/kittens (I was dissapointed) but at least they are promoting adoption.
